Best and Worst Addictions

And by addictions naturally, I mean television... for now. Now two categories. Keep in mind I have watched all these shows. Best is best depicted, relevance to my life, self interests.,etc... Worst is irrelevant to me, unrealistic, or stuff I would like to pretend is unrealistic.

Best Addictions:

Gossip Girl
I just finished last night's episode of Gossip Girl and WOW, it has made me want to hurt cute, little animals- k maybe not, but it has made me want to punch bitches. It preys on the instinct that a girl has when she wants to trust a situation that doesn't seem right, and gets crapped on in the end. I feel that many girls, and guys, can relate to this feeling or experience. Well, the episode deals with that, and the complications of adding high school drama, teachers, and college admissions into the mix. I think it's such a great show, except for the thousand dollar bags. I usually catch it online.

How I Met Your Mother
It's legendary. My favorite episodes are the ones involving Robin's Teen Pop Star Hits, and the "Woo Girl", and "Naked Man." It's a group of friends that I could see myself having. It's people you can relate to, hanging out grabbing beers at the bar. Dating, relating, couples, singles, it's all encompassing.

30 Rock
Liz Lemon is my humor twin. It's funny. And not conventionally funny, it's dryly funny and borderline offensive. I love that. I can't describe much about it except it takes place at 30 Rockefeller Center -duh- and the cast is awesome. I love Rachel Dratch's cameos also.. Elizabeth Taylor, the lesbian, the cat lady.. LOVE it! hahaha.

Battlestar Galactica
Though it's becoming more of a complicated soap opera, I love the first season the absolute best. It's like Star Trek with sex. Yeah, I just said that. It combines a war with humans and cylons (humans with robotic tendencies), and drama and betrayal that goes with it. I guess it truly is a soap opera in a space setting, but hey, that makes it much cooler, plus the eye candy is a plus.

Skins
Online view only. The most dramatic, over the top show I think I have ever seen. I hope the youth abroad isn't like this really. Compulsive use of alcohol, drugs, and sex reign this show. You look at a group of teens lives. The entertainment factor of this show is amazing. I love comparison of their low income areas to the US areas of low income. As far as appearance is concerned, they win. It's also bizarre to see them all drinking so young at bars, as the drinking age is younger. Like I've said prior, I don't know if this is accurate, nor do I care. I have lived my "rebellious teen angst" regret through this show.

Fringe
I love mixing science and FBI, ultimately it's my jobgasm. I love Joshua Jackson, and I would die for Olivia's job. Best episode ever with the people on the bus and airplane suspended in that goo, it really peaked my interest, and the show's been nothing but awesome since. I mean I used to think of stuff like this when I was younger,- I was a sick little daydreamer- and it's cool to see mutated, walking common cold viruses on the show. :-D

House
The medical drama in my life- I abandoned ER prior to college. I actually find him funny. I find dry sarcasm funny, and I find it funnier since I didn't actually start watching this show until this season. I also like the cast, and that they kill people off and fire them. I don't know, I also like the whole "let me quiz myself to see if I know what these symptoms cause." I have gotten a lot, though ofcourse, the person usually has a combination of 3+ diseases because.. one diagnosis is not enough to keep watching.

Worst
Addictions:

Secret Life of an American Teenager
Getting pregnant at 15 because you didn't realize you were having sex. Getting married at 15 to a guy whose baby you're not having. Having a 13 year old sister who owns condoms. Poor middle class suburbia with its struggles. Having friends who are all polar opposites and stereotypical. Thanks for making the Hispanic girl the "slutty one" from the broken home. LOL The Jesus worshipping blonde girl from a loving family. The follower friends. All the stereotypes are present here, the "Hot guy" aka Player who was abused as a child and that's why he sleeps around, the Nerd who loves the preggers girl, the Jock who wants some, the random forced interracial couple we barely see, and the Asians- who break up and branch out. I find the subject matter as equally offensive as the characters. Don't get me wrong, the openness about sex is the only positive thing I can comment on. I was open with my parents about sex when I was younger, but this is slightly ridiculous. I simply watch this show just to see what happens next. I 'm actually in complete shock it's getting relevancy comments and positive reviews.

The Bachelor
Oh boy, so not real and humiliating. I watched a bit of it last night and I can't imagine a dude breaking it off with me on national television, that doesn't even happen to celebs. But people watch for that kind of crap and love it. in fact, I think the girl who got kicked off last night will probably have her own show next season ,watch for it. I definitely loved Momma's Boys though.

Rock of Love Tour Bus
The raunchiness sucks me in every time. Most of those girls are idiots with boobs-which is unfortunately what a lot of men go for. Stay away from this type of dude. LOL I also watch for cameos of girls from previous seasons like Lacey in the ice skating/baby challenge thingamabob. I do have to gripe. Thanks to this show, in addition to all the TRUE fans of Poison - including middle aged women, bikers, metalheads alike - we have to now see these random skanks in Ed Hardy dresses and heels at a show trying to get discovered and getting shitty.

Lost
I tried . Pretty damn hard too. I couldn't do it. Sorry life.

Heroes
Once again, once again, a religious cult show. It looks cool, just can't get into it. I was really into it at the beginning, but then life got chaotic, and I got lost. Maybe one day.

Grey's
I like House better, and I'm only allowed one medical drama a season. Plus, the first episode of the season depressed me, I hate shows that emphasize betrayals and whatnot. Yes, I know it happens, but I watch television to not see people on their deathbeds admitting adultery.

I miss simple shows like Full House, Saved By The Bell (the original!!! F the college years) and Laguna Beach :-(
